So in their infinite wisdom they decided to make the lot for the business school, which was normally full by 8:30, a faculty only lot. Which in other words means half empty at all times. Good job guys...

Faculty are always going to get preferential treatment over students. It’s possible that some of the faculty complained that there isn’t any parking later than 8:30.

So, now where does everyone park?
Something I figured out years ago when I went to community college. Never register your car with the school. Since they could only write tickets (no towing contract, can't run plates), the only thing they had to go by was the registration sticker of the vehicle. If you didn't register it, they had no idea who's car it was, so they could write you tickets all day but you wouldn't have to pay them.

When I went to Michigan State that wasn’t a good game to play haha. Campus Cops are full fledged Cops at MSU, and the parking patrol can be vicious (though, effective)

Yeah, it certainly depends on the university. Some have full authority, as you said. Blew me away first time I saw a campus cop pull over someone for speeding when I was at a different college.

haha, sounds like what my school did. They made the huge lot a faculty lot, then decided they could make money by selling more expensive parking passes to be able to park in that lot. Seriously, it was a tiered parking pass system.

Hahahaha yeah that would get you.
I actually did Judo with a couple of the MSU Police Officers, cool guys. I was also in charge of security for 2 of the dorm buildings at night so I interacted with them quite a bit.

The parking lot at my school is a vicious feeding ground and we’re all vultures circling the area looking for a parking spot.
I get there early every morning. It’s the only way.

There is a parking structure a few blocks away. But that was having capacity issues even before they closed this lot off.

Parking is a pretty lucrative business at my school. And there simply isn’t enough. But that will happen when your school is built on the side of a mountain.

Same here. Except without a mountain.
We went from an enrollment of 11,000 in 1990 to an enrollment of over 25,000 this year. And we built lots of stuff in between, but people who donate money aren’t very interested in having their name on parking...

Buy a motorcycle! Problem solved. Free parking in the best spots.

Our roll mentioned is over 30k at this point I believe. The only answer to the solution is to build stuff on our or other campus which is about 2 miles from the downtown campus(where I live). They are doing that but no student who isn’t an extreme introvert wants to live out there.

Beats the issues I had.
